Can a relationship last if the kids don't like your current partner?

Hi, I guess it's always going to be harder on older kids. I have 4 young children and it was easier for the smaller two to get a long with my boyfriend as suppose to my older two. However, things are working out for all of us. Prior to that I had started to date someone and my kids did not like him at all so I gave him the boot. Kids are good judges of character....
